Tim Challies posts a good article reviewing some books that discuss listening to sermons. A good preacher will spend over ten hours working on a sermon (mine normally take 15-20 hours to prepare – guess I’m a little slow), yet the average listener does not even spend five minutes preparing to listen to the message.
